“Opportunities and Challenges for the Modernization of High Education Institutions”
Venue: Antigua, Guatemala, Central America, 29-30 August 2013
Latin America as a whole – and Central America in particular – is affected by recurrent climate-related extreme events which makes this territory to one of the most vulnerable in the world. Based on this state of affairs, the EU project “Network of Climate Change Technology Transfer Centre in Europe and Latin America” (CELA) was initiated. CELA, which is being implemented as part of the ALFA III Programme of the European Commission, and which involves countries from both Latin America (Bolivia, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Peru) and Europe (Germany and Estonia), looks at climate change management and fosters increased cooperation between universities in Latin America and Europe in this important field. Within the framework of the project CELA, the EUROPEAN AND LATIN AMERICAN ACADEMIC CONFERENCE ON CLIMATE CHANGE MANAGEMENT is being organized by the Research and Transfer Centre on Climate Change at Galileo University in Guatemala.
Registrations are now open and are possible until 14 August 2013. Regrettably, registrations after the deadline will not be possible. Since the space for displays and the time for presentations is limited, delegates are advised to register as soon as possible
